The Abscess Gallery contains photographs of abscesses and wounds presented by
clients of Clean Needles Now to staff and clinicians at the needle exchange.
Some of the images are disturbing. We include them here to raise awareness about
this growing public health problem. Skin infections and abscesses are a
common but preventable and treatable occurence among injection drug users.
Our healthcare system frequently fails to adequately address the needs of injection drug users
in an accessible, non-judgemental environment.

All of the people pictured here were treated on the premises of
Clean Needles Now or were referred to the hospital by staff or volunteers.
